Role Purpose
Purpose
The Patient Voice Forum exists to ensure that people with lived experience can meaningfully help to inform and develop the Fountain Centre’s strategy, services and communications to reflect the real needs and experiences of patients and carers
Key Responsibilities
Patient Voice Forum Members may be invited to:

- Share lived experience to inform the charity’s work
- Advise on service, communications and developments.
- Support the Fountain Centre to be accountable to the communities it serves
- Take part in activities such as focus groups and surveys
- Contribute insights that help improve equity, accessibility and quality of support for people affected by cancer.

Who the Role is For
This role is open to people who:

- Have lived experience of cancer and is a Fountain Centre User.
- Are willing to share their experiences to help improve Fountain centre support services.
- Do not need any formal qualifications or previous involvement experience — lived experience is the key requirement.

The Fountain Centre welcomes people from all backgrounds and aims to reflect the diversity of people affected by cancer.
Skills and Experience
Essential:

- Lived experience of cancer or supporting someone with cancer
- Ability to reflect on personal experience and share views respectfully

Desirable (but not required):

- Interest in improving Fountain Centre services, information and communication.
- Confidence contributing to group discussions (online or written)

Support and guidance will be provided by Fountain Centre.

The forum is advisory, not a decision-making body. The charity commits to explaining how input is used and, where it is not acted upon.
It does not involve providing clinical advice, counselling, or peer support, and is not a paid employment role.
